A Children's Christmas Colouring Story
ISBN
0968296629
Written by Mary-Anne Boudreau and illustrated by Chantal Boudreau, this e-book is a children’s story originally published
by the Yarmouth SPCA. It tells the story of Amanda who is hoping that Grammy will give her a puppy for Christmas. But on Christmas morning, “None of the packages whined or barked and none of them had air-holes through which a puppy could breath.” Instead, Grammy gives her a big box of dog supplies and a gift certificate for a dog from the local animal shelter. A few days later, they go to the shelter where Amanda chooses her dog, “a scruffy little black and white dog, quietly smiling at Amanda.” Robert, the shelter supervisor, explains to Amanda everything she’ll need to do to look after her new dog.
Designed to be printed out, the story is told on the left hand pages while the right hand pages are line drawings suitable for colouring. A perfect stocking stuffer for any little girl or boy who wants a pet for Christmas, this little Christmas book would also make a good project for an older child looking for a gift to make for a younger sibling. They could colour the pictures, mount all the pages on coloured construction paper, punch holes and bind the book with ribbon or macrame cord.
