| How to submit an original story, poem or
photograph to the Living With Animals Anthology.

Guidelines for
submitting a story or poem written by an adult
- You may only submit stories and poems written by you for which you own the copyright.
If your work is accepted for publication on the web site or e-zine, you give
non-exclusive electronic publishing rights to animalINK.
- Stories should
not exceed 1000 words in length.
- We will select stories and poems for publication at our sole
discretion.
- Include your story or
poem in the body of an e-mail with "animalINK
Anthology" in
the subject line. Please do not send it as an attachment. Include your name, address, phone number and e-mail.
(Name and city will be published. Other contact information will not be published unless you specifically request
it.) Indicate whether you want your real name or a pen name as
author. Include two or three sentences about yourself.
- If you would like a link
to your web site, include the URL.
- Stories will be edited for spelling and grammar before publication.

Guidelines for
submitting a photograph
- You may only submit photographs taken by
you for which you own the copyright.
- We will select photographs for publication at our sole discretion.
- If there are identifiable people in the picture, you must include
permission from those people, or in the case of a child, permission
from the parent or guardian, to publish the photograph on the
internet.
- Scan the photo at 72 dpi, save it in
.jpg or .gif format and
e-mail it as an attachment with "animalINK Photo Gallery" in
the subject line
OR
mail the photograph to animalINK Photo Gallery, 74-52313 Rge Rd 232,
Sherwood Park, AB T8B 1B7 and we will scan it for you. Sorry, photographs cannot be
returned.
- Include your name, address, phone number and e-mail. (Name
and city will be published. Other contact information will not be published unless you specifically request
it.) Indicate whether you want your real name or a pen name as
photographer. Include the animal's name and age and an optional
short comment to accompany the picture.
- If you would like a link
to your web site, include the URL.

Guidelines for
kids submitting stories or artwork
- You may only send stories and
drawings about animals that you wrote or drew yourself.
- Ask your parents' permission before you e-mail us.
- We will choose which stories and drawings to publish. If we
publish your story, we will send you a "Congratulations"
certificate
- Include your story in an
e-mail with "animalINK
Anthology" in
the subject line. Include your name, age, school, address, phone number and e-mail.
(First name and city will be published. Other contact
information will not be published under any circumstances.)
- Send your drawing as
an e-mail attachment in .gif format. If you don't have a scanner,
you can mail the drawing to animalINK Living With Animals Anthology,
74-52313 Rge Rd 232, Sherwood Park, AB T8B 1B7 and we will
scan it for you. Sorry, drawings cannot be returned and become the
property of animalINK.

Guidelines for
teachers submitting students' stories or artwork
- Make your writing assignments more meaningful by offering your
students the chance to have their work published. Any subject which
shows animals in a positive light is welcome. Click here for some
topic suggestions.
- If you are sending one or two stories, include them in an e-mail with "animalINK
Anthology" in
the subject line. Send drawings as e-mail attachments in .gif format. Include your name,
school, address, phone number and e-mail. Include the name and age
of the students whose work you are submitting as well as a statement
of permission from parents or guardians. (Student
author's first name, school , grade and city will be
published. Other contact
information will not be published under any circumstances. If you
prefer, students can make up pen names.)
- If you want to send the work of many students, save each
composition as a separate text file on a floppy disk. Save drawings
as .gif files. Mail the disk to animalINK Living With Animals
Anthology, 74-52313 Rge Rd 232, Sherwood Park, AB T8B 1B7.
Sorry, disks cannot be returned.
- We will choose which stories and drawings to publish.
- As a thank you, animalINK will send a "Congratulations"
certificate to the class.
